HOW IT STARTED

Circa early 1990’s. Spying on my dad in his specialty automotive shop, watching intently as his self-taught engineering hands got dirty diagnosing a car’s issue. Absorbing every detail as he assessed the best next steps and rolled up his sleeves to repair and elevate the car’s abilities. I learned that understanding how things work really matters. It was fundamental to everything else.

The fix isn’t sustainable if we don’t understand the problem.

Too young to be truly helpful in the shop, I was gifted my very own Ford two-barrel carburetor and a handful of tools to tear apart and rebuild endlessly. I was hooked.

With time, I handed him tools & held the flashlight as he assessed, tested, installed, and talked through his diagnoses. Every challenge was a unique chance to build creative solutions & every failure was a chance to make something genuinely better.

HOW IT’S GOING

Founder of Savas Solutions, Steven Savas, has 13+ years of diverse leadership experience in product development, creative process, bridging the gap between mechanical & electrical engineering, and working with interdisciplinary teams to solve complex problems to elevate everyday living.

Steven grew up in a specialty automotive machine shop where he discovered how carburetors, engines, and electronics work. His fascination grew as he learned about their flaws & specifically how they failed, an education which served as an integral beginning to advancing his natural engineering mind & skill. This machine shop environment was the birthplace of Steven’s passion for end-to-end product design & specifically how to build things better.

Just mere months after graduating with a BS in Mechanical Engineering, Savas Solutions was created with a focus on selecting diverse projects and partnerships to further advance skill and technique.

In the first 10 years of Savas Solutions, Steven had partnered with 20+ companies, serving alongside premiere, interdisciplinary teams of every size to bring 30+ products to market.

As principal engineer & design consultant, Steven will guide you in navigating and forecasting key needs for all stages of product development — from creating an initial concept, to research & development, testing & refinement, and to launching a product into full production.

Learning & expanding how things work fuels Steven everyday. He continues to enjoy his first love of cars, spending time in the shop, on the race track, and in the company of his racing community. He resides in the Portland, Oregon area with his brilliant wife Francisca, feisty cat Dorian, and beloved race cars.

With 15+ year’s experience driving user-centric creative vision, he aims to create revolutionary products and experiences that exceed the expectations of an evolving market. Dave has been awarded by the International Design Excellence Award, A’Design, Good Design, IF Design and his products have been awarded multiple times with Best of CES. With every project Dave looks at the impact a product can have and how it can improve the lives of end-users.

    Chief Architect

    Erik is a veteran technologist with world-class track record at Apple, Tesla, Seismic & Immersion. With 35+ years of automotive, medical, aerospace & robotics product / R&D experience, and named as an inventor on 120+ patents, Erik has mastered his craft in making the seemingly impossible a reality. Not only is he a founder of 2 medical device companies, but is a well known Porsche race-car and race-engine builder in the vintage racing world. Erik is a hands-on innovator with a full machine shop, enabling him to build and modify prototypes as needed to prove out designs and concepts.
